Wireless Charging for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs)

Traditional AUV charging often requires support boats to manually swap or recharge batteries, which is costly and causes major mission downtime. Other approaches use docking systems with wet-mate connectors that are prone to biofouling and corrosion.

Solace’s wireless power and data technology make it possible to develop a wireless docking solution that allows AUVs to dock underwater and wirelessly receive power and data without relying on a support boat or wired connections that fail.
