Newfoundland-based deep-tech company earns national recognition for its breakthrough technology

21st May 2025, Mount Pearl, NL: Solace Power Inc. (Solace), a Canadian technology company developing wireless power and data solutions through solid materials, has been recognized by the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO) as one of Canada’s Top 20 Moonshot Ventures of 2025. The announcement was made as part of NACO’s closed-door showcase highlighting Canada’s most promising innovation-driven ventures with global growth potential. Solace Power was recognized in the “Robotics, IoT, and Hardware” category for developing transformative physical technologies with strong commercialization potential.

The Moonshot Ventures list is curated annually by NACO in collaboration with leading investors and ecosystem leaders. Companies are selected based on their potential to reshape industries, solve large-scale problems, and scale globally with Canadian innovation. The company was one of only three companies from Atlantic Canada to receive a place on this year’s list. Solace’s COO and CFO, Colin Ryan, presented the company at the NACO Summit held earlier this month in Ottawa.

“We’re proud to be included in this year’s Moonshot Ventures list,” said Neil Chaulk, CEO of Solace Power. “This recognition speaks to the hard work of our team and the impact of our technology in solving real-world challenges where physical cables and connectors are barriers to scale and deployment. As we transition into volume production this year, we remain focused on building innovative solutions that are both practical and elegant, redefining performance and user experience, and unlocking previously inaccessible adoption curves,” he added.

Concurrently, Solace’s automotive platform has reached a significant milestone: its integration into a production vehicle successfully passed electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing - marking the first volume automotive product to do so. With production slated to begin later this year, this achievement signals the company's readiness to support scalable deployment across multiple industries in high volume.

“This recognition from NACO comes at a pivotal time,” said Colin Ryan, COO and CFO of Solace Power. “We're seeing momentum in both product validation and operational execution. Over the past two years, we’ve secured multiple strategic investments, deepened key partnerships, nearly doubled our team in Newfoundland and Labrador, and built the operational foundation to scale production across telecom, automotive, and beyond. Our team is incredibly proud of the innovations they’re building, and we’re glad to see those efforts recognized nationally.”

Solace’s patented technology delivers power and data through non-metallic barriers such as glass and walls, enabling seamless connectivity in next-generation vehicles, complex aerospace and defense systems, 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) networks, sub-sea qualified products, and beyond. The company is actively engaged with global connectivity providers and industry partners to accelerate adoption of its product platform across multiple high-growth markets.
