The Role:

We’re seeking a driven individual with expertise in designing, building, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems, who is also eager to understand the broader product strategy and company objectives to guide deliverables and timelines. The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in providing technical expertise and guidance to develop reliable products that align with market needs.

The Senior Electrical Designer will work closely with the Senior Manager and Electrical Engineers within the Design Integration and Test team and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver value-added systems and products to our customers. The individual filling this role will be comfortable working in an agile environment and able to adapt quickly to new information as customer requirements evolve. They will possess a deep understanding of electrical engineering, practical hands-on experience, and an optimistic can-do attitude to help Solace develop cutting-edge wireless power solutions.

Your Day-to-Day at Solace Power:
  • Develop, test, and optimize electrical circuits and systems for wireless power transfer applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and product managers, to develop next generation demonstration systems to showcase Solace’s technology.
  • Work closely with the product development team, to conceptualize designs and define requirements for wireless power products and demonstrators.
  • Assist product and project managers to create and adhere to product development timelines.
  • Document wireless power system build, operation guides/manuals, wiring diagrams, and other relevant documents for system operation and reference.
  • Perform inspection, testing, and analysis of printed circuit boards (PCBs) to validate circuit functionality and identify manufacturing defects.
  • Conduct simulations, modeling, and analysis to validate system performance and reliability.
  • Prototype and test new electrical designs, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in existing designs and processes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in wireless power technology and incorporate new techniques into projects.
  • Document test results and technical specifications accurately and comprehensively.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers.
Must-Have Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or diploma in Electronics, Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and operating electrical systems.
  • Experience in electrical design/development, lab skills (i.e. soldering), circuit prototype testing and debugging.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory, circuit design, and power electronics.
  • Proficiency in using simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
