At Solace Power Inc., we are pioneering the future of wireless power technology. As a close-knit team of around seventy people, we push the limits and redefine how the world thinks about wireless power. Our innovative solutions cater to complex requirements in telecommunications, automotive, aerospace and defense and various other industries, and we are excited to bring truly groundbreaking products to market.
The Role:
Solace Power is looking for a Director of Marketing who goes beyond making a marketing plan. We have a small, talented team, and we need a leader who brings both strategic depth and hands-on craftsmanship.
You’ll own our marketing function end to end: messaging, strategy, content, PR, enablement, events, and a rolling 5-quarter plan that aligns directly to qualified pipeline growth. If you love translating engineering-heavy technology into crisp positioning, obsessing over a website structure, fine-tuning a one-pager, or sharpening a value proposition, this is for you.
At Solace Power, you’ll be working at the forefront of wireless power technology: truly best-in-class, world-leading innovations that are redefining what’s possible in the industry, and you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how these breakthroughs are communicated and positioned globally.
You’ll report directly to our VP Sales & Marketing, who will provide support and be a sounding board, but you’ll own the execution and lead the team.
Your Day-to-Day at Solace Power:
Strategy & Planning
- Build and own a 5-quarter marketing plan tied to revenue and pipeline goals.
- Establish cohesive positioning and messaging frameworks adopted across the company.
- Create a content and campaign roadmap across thought leadership, PR, and demand generation.
Hands-On Marketing Execution
- Work with the team to write, edit, and elevate copy across websites, sales enablement, technical overviews, and more.
- Improve our website structure, narrative flow, and conversion paths.
- Identify opportunities for marketing to enable sales to shorten cycles of long, multi-year enterprise hardware supply deals ($1million+ per deal).
- Drive thought leadership (format based on your best judgment).
- Partner with engineers to turn complex technology into clear, compelling storytelling.
- Work with large enterprise customers on joint PR announcements and case studies.
Team Leadership
- Directly manage and coach a small marketing team (designer, PMM, events/comms – hybrid team located in Newfoundland).
- Instill prioritization, quality standards, and strategic thinking.
- Manage agencies or external contractors (web, PR, content) when needed.
Pipeline Impact
- Increase the number of qualified inbound leads with campaigns, content, and improved messaging.
- Support Sales with stronger enablement to shorten sales cycles.
What you bring:
Must-Have Requirements:
- 8+ years in B2B marketing with strong hands-on experience.
- Able to work effectively in a dynamic, constantly changing scale-up environment
- Proven ability to turn complex technical products into clear, compelling messaging.
- Experience managing and coaching a small hybrid (remote / in-person) team.
- Demonstrated success driving qualified inbound pipeline.
- Strong writing instincts. You can refine copy, structure a narrative, and tighten messaging instantly.
- Comfortable rolling up your sleeves while thinking strategically.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in deep tech, hardware, engineering-heavy products, or power/energy/automotive.
- Experience with long sales cycle, enterprise hardware deals. Think multi-year sales cycles.
- Experience with Hubspot.
- Experience with PR, analyst relations, and event strategy.
- Experience building longer-range marketing plans or owning budget recommendations.
What Success Looks Like (12 Months)
- A cohesive, actionable 5-quarter marketing plan exists and is being executed.
- Qualified inbound has grown by 50% YoY – most of our pipeline is driven from outbound currently.
- Solace Power is recognized as a credible thought leader in wireless power.
- Our messaging is sharp, consistent, and used across Sales, Marketing, and Product.
Why Join Us:
- You’ll own the marketing function at a pivotal time in our growth. You’ll work regularly with the exec team, challenge our thinking, and have the autonomy to shape marketing the way you believe will drive results. If you want both strategy and hands-on impact, this role gives you both.
- Be part of a company that is redefining wireless power technology.
- Work in a collaborative and innovative environment that values fun, courage, teamwork, and diverse perspectives.
- We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including participation in a GRRSP and employee stock option plan.
